What’s plentymarkets?

Originally launched as a pure shopsoftware under the name “plentyShop”, now plentymarkets is THE complete multi-channel eCommerce solution.

When the software was developed in 2001, it was actually only intended to connect a webshop directly to eBay. But the shopsoftware quickly developed into a store system and finally into a complete solution for all eCommerce processes. After more and more marketplaces were connected, “plentyShop” finally became “plentymarkets”.

The added value of plentymarkets

Plentymarkets serves as a further multiplier to supply well-known marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon, Zalando, Otto or similar with data. Users store their item master data to use the data for the online markets that are integrated in plentymarkets in future.

Then the store system handles all other business processes from A-Z. It manages inventories, processes orders, handles the entire order management and also handles incoming payments. The connection to major shipping service providers also enables shipping and returns processing.

Why connect plentymarkets to CatalogExpress?

One of the most important aspects with regard to plentymarkets is the imported article master and product data. After all, these form the cornerstone for the visibility of your products in the target channels and determine whether you are successful or unsuccessful in going to the marketplaces and stores.

In addition to the marketplaces connected via plentymarkets, you certainly also sell your products on other markets and through other channels. Because CatalogExpress automatically updates the data at a certain time or after a trigger, if the data has been updated in your ERP or PIM. Once set, the process runs fully automated. On the other hand, you use CatalogExpress to create the required data structures and file formats for all other B2B customers, marketplaces and platforms, and also for stores. It’s also easy to generate a BMEcat and to export your data using a standard such as ETIM or ECLASS. In this way, you achieve a stable, transparent, and standardized process for all data exports to your desired channels.

CatalogExpress also offers the option of connecting multiple source systems. In this way, prices and logistics data from the ERP system and product data from a PIM system are merged into the required format.

With the help of the interfaces to the ERP and PIM systems, CatalogExpress also transfers orders from plentymarkets and transfers them to the corresponding system. Conversely, CatalogExpress transfers the resulting data from the ERP system to plentymarkets. There, the automated order management is continued.

Now you can supply both classic B2C marketplaces such as Amazon or Otto, B2B marketplaces such as mercateo and conrad business, as well as wholesalers and B2B customers with customer-specific data.
