Strong in the region - for the region

We are committed

We are committed – together for the region

We are committed: The Sauerland and the South Westphalia region (“Südwestfalen”) are very dear to us. Do you know that the South Westphalia region is the most wooded and at the same time industrially strongest region in North Rhine-Westphalia, with more than 150 world-leading companies? As a company, we have decided to actively support regional projects and initiatives to shape the region for the future. In addition to our partnerships with PIM companies and the like, we regionally support networks with our membership and our commitment:

nexoma Buergerstiftung Arnsberg

The Citizens’ Foundation Arnsberg (BürgerStiftung Arnsberg) primarily supports social and cultural concerns that are particularly close to the hearts of the citizens, thus contributing to the improvement of the quality of life in the city and the Arnsberg region. The Citizens’ Foundation Arnsberg operates on a non-profit and transparent basis.

Due to its financial and political independence, the foundation is able to support a wide range of social and cultural activities. The Citizens’ Foundation aims not to replace the public sector but to carry out independent projects or support existing non-profit initiatives.

To make our city even more livable, we at nexoma support the Citizens’ Foundation Arnsberg!

nexoma Digitales Forum Arnsberg

In recent years, Arnsberg has achieved significant successes in transforming its economic structures, particularly in tapping into an increasingly digitized business world.

The Digital Forum Arnsberg (das Digitale Forum Arnsberg) establishes a connection between companies offering solutions for the digital economy and forward-thinking businesses from the region and beyond.

To achieve these goals, over 20 companies from the digital economy sector in Arnsberg, with the support of economic development (Wirtschaftsförderung) and politics, have joined forces under the name Digital Forum Arnsberg.

Logo von Homebase_Sauerland

HomebaseSauerland is an initiative founded by young Sauerlanders, working independently and voluntarily to strengthen the future viability of the region. The Sauerland is more than just a provincial area with recreational character for all members. The ‘Land of a Thousand Hills’ is a tourism heavyweight in North Rhine-Westphalia and an attractive business location with a strong middle class, offering young professionals numerous opportunities for both professional and personal development. As an agile location initiative, we rely on the advantages of communicative change in the age of digitalization to convey this positive view of the region and its potential to a broad audience and to anchor it more strongly in the consciousness of young people in the sense of a ‘modern form of local heritage preservation.’

Through personal commitment, including serving as a jury member and advisor to the ‘HomebaseSauerland’ initiative, nexoma supports the promotion of this charming and innovative region.

nexoma Sauerland Initiativ

At ‘Sauerland Initiativ,’ companies and prominent figures from the region are committed to improving the image of the Sauerland. Currently, the initiative represents 85 members from almost all sectors and industries in the Sauerland.

The spectrum of projects by Sauerland Initiativ ranges from the endowed ‘Innovation Prize Sauerland’ with €10,000 to cultural promotion and the ‘Women in Leadership Positions’ project, as well as press work aimed at profiling innovative economic sectors in the Sauerland and improving infrastructure in areas such as transportation and high-speed internet. In addition, the initiative is involved in market research projects and studies to ensure the region’s good future. nexoma contributes to making a strong Sauerland even stronger. Together with clever ideas, initiative, and coordinated action, the Südwestfalen Agentur GmbH was founded in 2008 to strengthen the Südwestfalen region. It is supported by the five districts of Südwestfalen: Olpe, Soest, Siegen-Wittgenstein, Hochsauerlandkreis, and Märkischer Kreis, as well as the association ‘Wirtschaft für Südwestfalen’ (Business for Südwestfalen). As an IT company based in Arnsberg, we deeply care about the Sauerland region. Therefore, we strive together with ‘Südwestfalen – Alles echt‘ to make the region more known and attractive. Together, we support regional projects and network with other companies.

Research and development

The regular exchange with universities, colleges, and research institutes enables our company to always be technologically up-to-date. We receive new impulses early on and are well positioned for digitization at an early stage.

The South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule Südwestfalen) is an engineering and natural sciences, information technology, business, and agricultural-oriented university.

With around 12,500 students in 60 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and eight departments, the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences is one of the larger institutions of its kind in North Rhine-Westphalia.

To always stay technologically up-to-date, we work closely with universities of applied sciences and universities. Currently, we are not only implementing the topic of ‘Agile Project Management’ with the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, but also working together in other practical and partnership-oriented ways.

The Institute for Man-Machine Interaction (MMI) is part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at RWTH Aachen University and employs approximately 50 staff members. The MMI specializes in the modeling, simulation, and analysis of complex systems in their operational environment, the interaction and networking of machines and humans, as well as intelligent systems. Digital Twins developed at the MMI revolutionize development processes and the operation of (not only) robotic systems and serve as the foundation for the convergence of virtual and real worlds across industries and disciplines.

The focus of the MMI’s environmental sector is on methods for semantic environmental modeling and Digital Twins of vehicles and machinery, ranging from cars and construction machinery to forestry harvesters and their networking. This leads to the creation of digital forests, managed with highly efficient information technology methods. The MMI is significantly involved in almost all developments related to the Virtual Forest. In areas such as forestry data modeling, database-supported simulation, forestry remote sensing, terrestrial sensor technology, especially for forest inventory or timber harvesting, networking in the Internet of Things (IoT), and data space technologies, the MMI has developed a comprehensive knowledge base. nexoma collaborates with the MMI Institute as part of the DTMForst research project.
